Special day for my class

Koontz Cards
This was on the Rowan Salisbury Schools Main Page! I was so proud of my kids!

12-6-10 - Koontz Students Join In The “Holiday Mail for Heroes!”
Lindsay Merritt’s 2nd grade class at Koontz Elementary has been working very hard to help the American Red Cross with the Holiday Mail for Heroes project with a goal of 800 cards. Merritt encouraged Koontz staff, classes, visitors, parents, and even a local church to donate cards and to help complete the cards for our troops. The class was supprised when a student teacher/assistant Donna Girty invited her son, Sergeant Tore' Orlando Girty to visit the class and to put a face with the project. Sergeant Girty spoke with students about how important the holiday cards are for the military stationed in bases around the world, since he was stationed in Korea. The American Red Cross invites everyone to send holiday cards to our American service members, their families, and veterans all over the world. The cards also go to Walter Reed Army Medical Center.
The Koontz Elementary School family has completed over 500 cards in only 4 days!!

You're Invited to an Exclusive blog

Due to the overwhelming emails and messages  I have decided to make a blog strictly for Pageant information.  You can now follow me on my journey for the title of Mrs. North Carolina United States.  Here you will see what I have been up to for the last 6 months, and see how this "retired" queen is jumping back into the pageant world, for all of the right reasons.  I am chronicling my experiences, advocacy, platform, and who I am.  Please bear with me while I try to transfer from my personal blog to this one, and as I share where I've been, and what I have been doing.  Thank you to all of my students, their parents, friends, sponsors, family, and above all God for blessing this vision, and giving me the strength to do it, even when I doubted myself!
